Surroundings

The Campus
The main house is located in a remote hillside surrounded by 5 acres of forest. There is a swimming pool, garden, quiet space, laundry facilites, kitchen, TV room and sleeping quarters. This is where the majority of students will live and share the responsiblites for maintaining the home.

The family house is where the Thompsons live with their family. This house is surrounded by 5 acres about 4 miles from the main house. This home also has sleeping quarters, quest rooms, meeting spaces, private/quiet space, garden and farm animals.

Pacifica Garden is a non-profit botanical garden, nature center & educational facility all peacefully ("pacifically") woven together on 500 rolling, secluded acres. This space is located about 1 mile from the main house and is used for larger gatherings, retreats, specific activies, creative venues. There is some housing located at Pacifica.

Meeting spaces will vary based on need. Our main meeting area is the community room at the main house.

Behind the campus there is another forest where you are sure to see deer. You can walk all the trails in the forest. For a longer walk, you can go deep into the forest land and climb to the top of Pather Gulch to get a view of the entire valley.

Williams
Williams is a small town nestled in a growing climate in the middle of the Applegate valley. It is 20 miles south of Grants Pass and 40 miles west of Medford. There are two small grocery stores, a post office, school, a general goods store, hardware store, video store, a restaurant, library, Christian Church, SDA Church, Grange, Pacifica Gardens, Herb Pharm and horse ranches. Williams is surrounded by farm fields and forests with many dirt roads, trails, public access land and you can explore.

Grants Pass
Grants Pass is the nearest city about 20 miles from Williams. It has stores, restaurants, churches, repair shops, major bank braches and theatres. We love Grants Pass for it's small town appeal with big city ammenities. It great to get Groceries, attend the Famer's Market, Friday Art Nights, Coffee shops,Churches and the pharmacy where you can get 25¢ soda phosphates. It is the home of Rouge Community College, 2 large highschools and the local Walmart.

Medford
The closest larger town to Williams, Medford is about 40 miles through the beautiful Applegate Valley. The population there is about 50,000. This is the where the airport, mall, costco, large facilites and some cultural activity takes place. There is little you will need you can't find in Medford.

Ashland (http://www.ashlandchamber.com/)
Ashland is a pretty, small town...surrounded by gorgeous mountains, lazy creeks, and roaring rivers. This is a place where incredibly talented chefs prepare locally grown cuisine. Lithia park is a beautifl space to escape and enjoy some incredible scenery and quiet space outdoors. The town is the Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and an array of other visual and vocal artistry.

It is also a college town and home of Southern Oregon Universtity. Which attracts great bookstores, coffee shops on every corner, indie movie theatres, collegate sports, and many great resources.

Mount Ashland (http://www.mtashland.com/) is right outside the city limits. Great for a quick snowboarding and ski break.
